Henrique is a founder of Heliagro Agricultura e Pecuária Ltda. Henrique served as President of Dupont
South Asia from 2004 through 2005, and also President of Dupont South
America from 1996 through 2003. He has
over 20 years of international business experience in a large and
diversified global industrial company. He sits on the Board of several
Profit and Non-Profit Organizations: DuPont-Cipatex,
Fibra-DuPont,Renner-DuPont, Amcham – American Chamber of Commerce,
IBIO, Instituto
Mata Atlântica, IDIS – Instituto para o Desenvolvimento do Investimento
Social, Artecola. Henrique is based in Brazil.
Paul
Polakowski III, Chief Financial Officer
Paul joined Terasol in early 2008 as a founding
member and initial-round investor. Paul has over 10 years of
experience in finance, corporate development, M&A and strategy with
businesses at every stage of development. Prior to Terasol, Paul was an independent
private equity investor and corporate finance/strategy advisor. Prior to working as an independent
investor, Paul was an investment associate at DB Capital Partners (the
North American private equity affiliate of Deutsche Bank). Prior to DB Capital Partners,
Paul was an analyst in the Global Communications & Media Group in the
Investment Banking Division at Lehman Brothers. Paul received his BA in economics and government from
Connecticut College and holds a postbaccalaurate certificate from Columbia
University. Paul is based in New York and Brazil.
Charles
Tharcy Sturmer, Chief Operating Officer
Charles has overall responsibility for all agricultural and industrial operations at Terasol. Charles is
a founder of Helianthus do Brasil Ltda., a leading developer of genetic material
for large-scale agricultural crops in Brazil. Charles is also a founder of
Heliagro Agricultura e Pecuária Ltda, the seed development, marketing and
commercialization affiliate of Helianthus. Charles has 16 years of commercial
agribusiness experience working with soya beans, sunflower, sorghum, oats and
maize. Charles is a trained Agronomist and
holds an MBA from at Fundação Getulio Vargas SP. Charles in based in Brazil.
Gilberto
Grando, Chief Technical Officer
Gilberto is responsible for all agronomic activities at Terasol, and leads all research and development efforts. Gilberto is a founder of Helianthus do Brasil Ltda and Heliagro. Gilberto has over 30 years of experience in product development and has been a leading figure in the commercial development of sunflower seeds in Uruguay, Bolivia, Venezuela and Paraguay. Gilberto has worked as a technical assistant responsible for several seed companies in the areas of soy, wheat, beans and sunflower. Gilberto received his degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Pelotas , Rio Grande do Sul, in 1976. Gilberto is based in Brazil.
